Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 1 Teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 Teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 Cup Shortening
  • 1 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/4 cup Buttermilk
  • 2 Cups Flour
  • 1 tsp "ADAMS BEST" VANILLA
  • 1 tsp ADAMS BANANA EXTRACT or 1 cup smashed bananas
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cupcake pans. Cream shortening and sugar with mixer. Add eggs and extracts (or bananas) and buttermilk and mix until combined. Mix all dry ingredients in a separate bowl. Add in flour slowly to wet mixture and mix on low until blended. Fill liners 2/3 full and bake 15 minutes.

Icing

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 2 1/2 Cups Confectioners Sugar
  • 3 Table Milk
Directions:
Blend with mixer until desired consistency. layer over cooled cupcakes.
